Young progressive Democrats from New York's rural counties come together through the YDRC to help elect Democratic candidates, to train to be effective campaign workers, to network with prominent Democrats, to run for public office, and to meet other Young Democrats nationwide. We charge no dues, nor do we charter country chapters. We just want you to join us at our next event, meet our members, and get involved improving New York State by electing Democrats to public office. [Join Us]
Mission
The mission of the New York State Young Democratic Rural Conference is to elect Democrats throughout New York, to empower rural upstate Young Democrats, to promote issues of concern to rural Democrats, to involve young people in the work of the Democratic Rural Conference and the New York State Young Democrats, and to enrich the New York State Democratic Party with enthusiastic young people working toward an economically strong, environmentally clean, and socially progressive upstate New York.
Vision
The vision of the YDRC is to be recognized as an essential element of the Democratic Rural Conference, the New York State Young Democrats, and the New York State Democratic Party through grassroots activism and for boundless enthusiasm for a better New York.
YDRC membership is open to Democrats under 36 years old, living in one of New York's 41 rural counties with populations of 150,000 or less. We encourage New York Democrats of all ages, uban or rural, to learn more, and to get involved. |
