The YDRC's annual campaign invasion is our most important event each year. We gather YDRC members and friends from all over New York State to provide several days of concentrated grassroots campaign assistance to ensure the election of a Democrat in a close race. Our efforts have been resoundingly successful, and we are aggressively fundraising to make our next Campaign Invasion even more effective.
Throughout the fall, YDRC leaders work with the DRC, the State Democratic Committee, and county Democratic leaders to select the close race(s) that can benefit most from our help. These are candidates in rural or mostly-rural districts within reach of victory who need an extra hand to ensure victory.
In the past, we've helped candidates
in rural Monroe County, including District Attorney Mike
Green. We also deployed our members to support the successful
campaigns of Congressman
Brian Higgins, as well as Senator
David Valesky.
The 2005 Campaign Invasion supported
Chautauqua County Democrats, lending a hand to Mark Thomas in his
campaign for re-election as County Executive, Ken Lasker in his bid
for District Attorney, and Lori Cornell's campaign for County Executive.
The 2006 elections present us with
a major opportunity, and we will be actively fundraising this year
to finance an extensive Campaign Invasion next fall. We thank you
for your support!
